Özet
The purpose of this paper is to compare three design based learning studies in terms of implementation issues. These cases were students as educational game designers, students as digital story creators, and pre-service teachers as digital story creators for instructional materials. Looking across the cases, in all three studies, participants had difficulties to generate scenarios and storyboard for the end product of the game design or digital story production activity. They also had difficulties to use the tools for creating the game or the stories. Lessons across all three studies show that participants need well-structured orientation trainings for processes of design based learning activities and the tools used in these activities.
