Özet
Polyamides (PAs), commonly known as-nylons are one of the most important engineering plastics. They show outstanding physical and chemical properties, and this has made them widely used for textiles, household appliances, packaging, sports equipment, electrical, electronic, and automotive components. The automotive industry currently occupies the largest share followed by the electrical and electronic industries. Inevitably, this large usage of PA results in large amounts of wastes with consequent environmental problems. Strict legislations in many countries which now ban disposal of PA at the end of their first use, force the PA industry to move from the traditional linear economy approach to a circular and more sustainable model of recycling the waste or reusing it for new applications (upcycling).
