Özet
In order to identify fruit attributes of indigenous rose hips (Rosa canina) germplasm of Bitlis, Hakkari and Van provinces situated on the East Anatolia Region of Turkey, this study was performed in the areas with 1600-2500 m altitute during 1999 and 2000. A large number of rose hip genotypes from native were collected. In the study, fruit traits of 40 genotypes selected from native population were described. These rose hip genotypes had a range of 103-266 mm for fruit width, 1.23-443 mm for fruit high, 204-5.82 g for fruit weight, 18-41 for stone number, 468-79.9% for fruit flesh ratio, 301-1183 mg/100g for Vitamin C content, 32-44 for pH, 148-36.2% for soluble solids and 398-55.4% for total dry matter. Genotypes had red, dark-red; orange or light-orange colored fruits; middle or good fruit arona; no-hair fruits; less, medium or much inner fruit hair; and long, flat or oval shaped fruits.
