Archaeological researches in the Botan Valley is a part of Ilısu Dam Project Rescue Excavations, aimingto reveal the cultural inventory of the vast zone between the Upper Tigris and Cizre Plain. Thanks toexcavations such as Türbe Höyük, Başur Höyük, Çattepe and Gusir Höyük, a serious set of data exhibitingthe cultural processes in the region, beginning with the Neolithic period, has been unearthed. TürbeHöyük, one of the mounds mentioned above, is the key settlement for the Late Bronze Age I period in theregion, due to the Mitannian cultural elements examined in relation with a fortified settlement. Thispaper focuses on the Late Bronze Age pottery from Türbe Höyük II, and tries to analyse the interregionalcultural interactions within the chronological frame |
