Özet
A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of three different cutting heights on the hay yield and the root growth of dallisgrass (Paspalum dilatatum). Main plots were the cutting times (at 15, 30 and 45 cm of plant height) and subplots were cutting heights (5.0, 7.5 and 10 cm above ground). Tiller number, forage yields and dry matter yield (78°C and 24 h drying period) were recorded at each cutting time when plants reached suitable time for cutting for each pot. Results showed that delaying cutting time until 45 cm plant height resulted in significant increases for tiller numbers. Maximum forage yield was observed when plants were cut each time at 45 cm plant height with 5 cm cutting height during a vegetation period.
