| Introduction: The distance saturation product (DSP) is a calculation that provides important prognostic information used in many diseases. The DSP is the result of multiplying the total distance walked by the final oxygen saturation (SpO2) during the 6MWT. We hypothesised that DSP, as it has a prognostic value, would be associated with respiratory and peripheral muscle strength in renal transplant patients. Methods: Thirty-three renal transplant patients (37.67±11.59 years, 17F, 16 M) were included. Maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP) and maximum expiratory pressure using a mouth pressure device, dominant quadriceps muscle strength (QMS) and hand grip strength (HGS) using a dynamometer were assessed. A 6-minute walk test (6MWT) was used to evaluate exercise capacity. Results: The DSP was correlated with MIP (r=0.429, p=0.013), MEP (r=0.351, p=0.045), dominant QMS (r=0.388, p=0.031) and … |
