| It is well known that religious and ethical texts constitute a significant portion of the works produced within the field of Classical Turkish literature. Among these moral works are siyasetnames (books of political advice), nasihatnames (books of counsel), and futuvvetnames (manuals of futuvve) that convey the principles of the Ahi (guild) tradition. In the early periods, futuvvetnames were written primarily to convey Sufi teachings; beyond describing the characteristics of artisan groups, they emphasized the moral qualities that members of futuvve should possess.
