| Özet |
| In recent years, organic agriculture has been rapidly expanding in both developed and developing countries. This is a result of the increasing importance placed on healthy food consumption and environmental protection among consumers, paralleled by increased education levels, awareness, and economic development. The increasing demand for organic agricultural products has also led to an increase in the trade volume of organic agricultural products. The US and EU countries currently account for the majority of the organic product market (Demir et al., 2023; Ertürk & Yılmaz, 2013). Organic products that are not grown or are not sufficiently available in these countries are generally sourced from developing countries. Therefore, developing countries are undertaking various efforts to capture a share of this rapidly growing market.(Güler, 2017; Çukur et al., 2016; Demiryürek, 2004).The organic production system is crucial for human health as well as for a sustainable environment. Indeed, intensive agricultural production techniques, often involving excessive use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers, have left residue in food, causing various health problems and contributing to ecosystem degradation by polluting soil, air, and water. Therefore, a comprehensive examination of this issue highlights the importance of raising awareness among organic producers on this issue (Demir et al., 2023; Koley, 2017; Ertürk & Yılmaz, 2013; Skunida & Semkiw, 2011). |
