Youth and digital politics in Türkiye: a theory of planned behavior perspective

| Özet |
| This study investigates the predictors of digital political participation among Turkish youth in the context of the March 2024 elections. The primary aim is to explain how digital competence, political interest, and psychosocial factors shape young people’s intentions to engage politically online. Guided by an extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework, the study employs a large-scale youth survey (N= 468) and applies both network analysis to map the structural relationships among variables and mediation analysis to identify direct and indirect pathways. The results demonstrate that behavioral intention is the strongest predictor of digital political engagement, followed by perceived behavioral control and subjective norms.
