| In the study titled "Civil Society on a different platform and Turkey", firstly it is aimed to eliminate the concept and meaning ambiguity caused by the translation of the notion "civil society" into our language. Besides, the traces of the civil society notion in the societies' transformation process throughout the historical process are defined. The notion of civil society has been primarily handled with the meaning of civilization and then with the meaning of civil society which defines an area different from the state, and the notion has been considered and discussed in sociological dimension rather than its reflections in politics. Non-governmental organizations (NGO) that are one of the fields, in which civil society concept exists, are examined basically in specific qualifications and the social field in question is defined in two categorical sections as non-governmental organizations and social life organizations. In this study, the route of Turkish social history is examined in terms of the criteria of civil society and non-governmental organizations that constitute part of Turkish social life will be discussed in all aspects. |
