| Özet |
| ABSTRACT In this study, content analyzes of nine works of art, including eight monument sculptures and one relief work, representing the official ideology in the city of Diyarbakır, were conducted to determine what the central government’s open / implicit ideological messages given by the official ideology together with the official ideology were and why these messages were preferred is intended to be placed. This study, based mainly on field research, has been attempted to analyze the ideological messages of artistic works, taking advantage of the content analysis of the works analyzed. Undoubtedly, this sophisticated method, which is partly new in social research in Turkey, will contribute to the development of sociological theory and art history studies while at the same time contributing to the development of art history in a way that will work in a similar way the researcher will be the primary source. The most comprehensive result of this research is the following: The first monuments and sculptures made by the official ideology in the city were seen to have left the place of this message to the “indivisible unity of the nation and the unity of the nation” while the “Turkish War of Independence” and “heroism” were emphasized and the city was emphasized to “Turkishness.” It is understood that the underlying reason for this change is an ideological response to some separatist rhetoric of the legal Kurdish political movement, which is getting stronger and stronger in the city. Key words: Official ideology, monuments and statues, Diyarbakir. |
