Özet |
Background and objectiveMasked hypertension (MHT) is a specific pattern of hypertension (HT) wherein office BP is normal despite elevated BP measured using ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). Pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) is a novel inflammatory parameter with diagnostic and prognostic significance in a number of disease conditions. In this study, we aimed to investigate the diagnostic utility of PIV in MHT in outpatient clinic settings in seemingly normotensive patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).MethodsWe retrospectively included 78 MTH, 120 sustained hypertensive (SHT), and 176 normotensive patients with T2DM. 24 h-ABPM was used to detect MHT. PIV was calculated as neutrophil/lymphocyte x platelet x monocyte and compared between the groups.ResultsPIV was greater in MHT and SHT groups compared with the controls [310 (267–355), 353 (222.1-455.2) and 247.2 … |
