Identifying Prospective Science Teachers' Misconceptions about Greenhouse Effect, Ozone Layer and Acid Rain

Özet
The paper deals with the identification of prospective science teachers' misconceptions about the greenhouse effect, ozone layer and acid rain. The study was conducted on third grade students who studied science teaching during the fall term of the educational 2011-2012 year in the Faculty of Education, Ahi Evran University. The sample was comprised of a total of 122 prospective science teachers. To obtain adequate data on the greenhouse effect, ozone layer and acid rain, the literature has been reviewed and has been prepared. This data collection instrument is of Likert type and consists of 16 expressions. We concluded that students have a number of misconceptions about the greenhouse effect, ozone layer and acid rain, which are listed among global environmental problems.
