Özet
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of integrated mathematics and life studies teaching on primary school 3rd grade students' attitudes towards mathematics and life studies lessons. In the research, quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group, which is one of the quantitative research designs, was used. The research was carried out in the province of Kırşehir in the 2019-2020 academic year. The study group of the research consists of 66 students attending the 3rd grade of a primary school located in the city center of Kırşehir. This study aims to see how integrated mathematics and life studies teaching affects primary school 3rd grade students’ academic achievement. A quasiexperimental design with pretest and posttest was used in the study. The research was performed in the province of Kırşehir during the 2019-2020 academic year. The sample consisted of 66 students attending the 3rd grade in a primary school in the Kırşehir city center. The Mathematics Attitude Test developed by Baykul and the Life Studies Attitude Test developed by Oker and Tay were implemented for data collection purposes. The shared model, one of the multidisciplinary models in the interdisciplinary approach model, was employed in this study. The experiment lasted eight weeks. Mean, standard deviation, standard error, and corrected p values were used for descriptive statistics scores during data analysis. After testing the normal distribution of the data, Dependent Sample t-Test, Independent Sample t-Test, Mann-Whitney U Test and Wilcoxon Test were used for measurements.
