Özet |
The current study presents the effects of colemanite concentrator waste (CW) substitution in cement-based mortars on the gamma-ray shielding performance, setting time, compressive strength, and pulse velocity properties. Cement mortars were prepared to substitute different proportions of CW particles, up to 4-weight percent of cement. The gamma-ray (Cs-137-662 keV) shielding performance was investigated with an experimental study. Increasing CW substitution causes a decrease in compressive strength and an increase in setting time. It was found that the lead equivalent levels of materials with CW added and control specimens with a similar thickness differ significantly from one another. The incorporation of CW contributed to the attenuation of ionizing radiation including gamma rays. |
