| Education, which starts from birth and lasts lifelong, is one of the most important needs to ensure the continuation and the development of society since education not only ensures the continuation of the society by passing on the social and cultural heritage to the next generations but also meets the educational needs of societies to raise qualified individuals with knowledge-skills teaching activities. Because of this feature of education, the lifelong learning concept has been an important issue for national and international organizations related to education. National and international bodies related to education give great importance to adults' educational needs which will last lifetime. One of the most important elements of the lifelong education and adult education is the teacher and teacher education (TE) because qualified teachers are needed for a high-quality education which will meet the educational needs of both students and the society in general and for a lifetime. In fact, TE has always been a hot topic for both policy makers and higher education institutions to keep up with the changing needs of the digital era. In the current century, lifelong learning, learning to learn, becoming a knowledge society, and new trends in education are being focussed on TE programs. Even though there is plenty of research on TE, there is a huge need for researches on TE since the world is facing new changes nowadays.
