Özet
This study was conducted to isolate and identify plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPR) as biofertilizersfrom the acidic rhizosphere of tea grown in Eastern Black Sea region and to evaluate their potential use for nitrogen fixation, phosphate solubilization and improving plant growth of tea. The selected 26 different potential PGPR from a pool obtained from the tea rhizosphere on the basis of their laboratory tests value, were tested for their growth and yield of Turkish tea clone Muradiye 10 in comparison to farmyard manure and three different mineral fertilizers applicationas well as a control treatment without inoculation and any fertilizer application by conducting field experiments in three years.PGPR improved macro- and micro-nutrient concentrations in tea leaves, and stimulated plant growth. Trial results show that inoculation with Bacillussimplex 6/4, Paenibacillusvalidus 22/1, Bacillusmegaterium42/4, Chryseobacteriumindologenes 21/5, Pantoeaagglomerans 36/2, Bacilluscereus 27/6, Brevibacilluscentrosporus 66/4,Paenibacilluspolymyxa 66/6, Pantoeaagglomerans 5/8, Brevibacilluschoshinensis 2/5 stimulated overall plant shoot growth, macro- and micro-nutrient concentrations, trunk diameter, plant height and leaf yield of Turkish tea clones Muradiye 10 in the field experiments. Of the effective bacteria tested consistently gave growth and yields of tea equal to or higher than chemical fertilizers applied. The bacterial strain tested in this study improved for enhanced plant growth promotion will enable reductions in inputs of chemical fertiliser, had a potential to be used as a bio-fertilizer in sustainable and organic tea production
