Özet |
This book explores the potential reactions of states, international organisations, and societies to the COVID-19 pandemic. It challenges state exceptionalism in the security concept analysis by focusing on the human viewpoint. The COVID-19 era is defined in this book as the period between the pandemic’s start, government restrictions, and vaccine use. The post-pandemic/COVID-19 era is also discussed, starting from the pandemic’s decline due to widespread mRNA vaccine use, which led to the lifting of restrictions. However, short-and long-term effects will persist even after the pandemic is under control. The pandemic forced states, foreign organisations, and individuals to change their priorities and create a new standard. The book also highlights the need for improved international cooperation, particularly with organisations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), to control the pandemic better and enhance member state cooperation. The WHO is urged to become more reliable and efficient. Even though the COVID-19 pandemic has loosened its tight grip, the global community is still grappling with a host of issues that arose and persisted during the pandemic. |
