| Özet |
| Classroom management is a rational action that is realized for increasing the efficiency of learning-teaching activities. This action used to signify a view based on a discipline emphasizing the importance of making teacher’s authority dominant in the classroom; however, it is mainly used as an effort of creating a classroom environment to provide and support learning today (Demirel, 2006). According to Brophy (1988), classroom management comprises the activities of creating, protecting and managing a learning environment for achieving educational goals; whereas Lemlech (1988) defines classroom management as managing the classroom life like an orchestra. Celep (2002), on the other hand, defines classroom management as the process of coordinating and activating educational resources and students for realizing the classroom objective. While Demirtaş (2009) defines classroom management as activating students who are human resources and equipments which are material resources in the classroom according to objectives of the classroom; Erdoğan (2010) suggests that classroom management comprises all activities regarding the systematic and conscious application of principles, concepts, theories, models and techniques concerning the functions of planning, organization, application and evaluation. As it is seen in definitions, classroom management which primarily aims to provide a positive and an efficient learning environment and enable students to achieve their educational goals is affected by some variables (Alkan, 2007).
