| Özet |
| Within the scope of “Agricultural Basins” study, conducted by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Turkey has been divided into 30 agricultural basins. Konya province is observed as part of 3 agricultural basins of this agricultural basin system, which are Inner Aegean Agricultural Basin, Central Anatolian Agricultural Basin and Region of Lakes Agricultural Basin (MFAL, 2016). There are many criterions taken into consideration in forming these agricultural basins and factors such as crop yield value (botanical and zoological), output and climate lead the field. The fact that agricultural support system is going to be arranged according to these agricultural basins in Turkey in the near future increases the significance of these agricultural basins. Agriculture is a sector which every county supports in accordance with their resources, and it is also important that agriculture is supported strategically. When both the sector’s general traits and the conditions of those who are into the sector are examined, it is a fact that it has the biggest risk factor and those who make their livings out of it are the most affected ones. This situation is not only limited to Turkey but it also applies to the whole world, particularly Asia and Africa where agricultural lands are widely cultivated and people mostly live in rural areas. As a result, poverty felt in rural areas is much more vehement than the one felt in other parts of the world. When considered that agriculture is the first and most important sector, the strong bond between agriculture and rural areas can easily be seen and the same relation can also be felt between agriculture and poverty. |
