| Kırşehir County which is one of a searching area is located in the middle of Kızılırmak Basin in Central Anatolia Region. It is surrounded by Kırıkkale in the north, Yozgat in the east, Nevşehir and Aksaray in the south, and lastly Ankara in the west. In this study, whose topic is disposability of the natural and unnatural Kırşehir Caves, it is aimed to determine the natural and artificial caves located in Kırşehir county, and what contributions they can create in Turkey’s economy (Figure 1). Turkey is a quite rich country both having regions including carbonated and sulphated rocks and natural caves that human use as a sanctuary and also underground cities dug by human. Thereby; it has become more important in recent years analysing these kind of caves which are important for geological and archeologic. Figure 1. Location of the Study Area.Human used that kind of caves at Christianity’s spreading period to protect and hid from Roman Emperor’s attacks and forces which were directed towards the people internalised Christianity. From this point, Kırşehir city had become an important settlement because of approximation from which is Christianity started to spread’s first diffusion area. Here, in order to protect themselves from the pressure and attacks of the Emperorship, people hid in hypogeums and galleries that they dug in İnlidağ Cave and in smooth rocks of Neogene, which are called as underground cities Cappadocia Region where is Christianity’s first diffusion area and in here community had absconded to İnlidağ Cave, to the rooms and galleries, they made by carving inside of soft covered Neogene that we name them underground cities … |
