Özet |
Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is a multidisciplinary and comprehensive program considered as the gold standard for care of patients after cardiac disorders. It is the best and most established intervention for primary and secondary prevention. Performing CR after cardiac disorders (myocardial infarction, coronary artery bypass graft, cardiac transplantation, valve repair and heart failure ie) have reduced symptoms of dyspnea, decreased the number of recurrent events and hospitalization and mortality. There is a significant level of evidence regarding the effectiveness of mind-body techniques (Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi gong) in CR. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) could be recommended as a part of cardiac rehabilitation in older patients, especially those with a low functional reserve. 23% of elderly patients hospitalized for acute coronary syndrome have loss of muscle strength.
