Özet
In recent years, the use of warm mix additives (WMA), which helps to reduce the mixing and compaction temperatures, has become widespread for more economical and environmentally friendly production of asphalt pavements. Therefore, when the studies on bitumen modification were examined, there was an increase in the number of studies that included WMA. In these studies, wax-based additives are frequently encountered. In this study, papers on the effects of various wax-based additives used in bitumen modification on the physical properties of bitumen have been compiled. A general review has been done on the effect of these additives on base bitumen in different penetration grades. Accordingly, the quantitative data of the results of penetration and softening point experiments obtained from various studies were collected and compared statistically. As a result, it has been observed that FT-paraffin wax (Sasobit) additive is widely used in the literature, the wax additive ratio is mainly preferred at 3%, and wax additives generally increase the consistency of base bitumen.
