Özet |
Seeds of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) cultivars Aras and Eskișehir-855 were germinated under laboratory conditions. The resulting plants at the 4-leaf stage were inoculated in the stems above the uppermost node with oncogenic (A281) and non-oncogenic (GV2260 and EHA 105) lines of Agrobacterium tumefaciens. The inoculation of line A281 resulted in the development of tumours. Root abnormality was not observed in both cultivars. When the cultivars were inoculated with the non-oncogenic lines, yellow leaves with mosaic patterns were recorded. The GUS [beta-glucuronidase] gene was absent in these plants. When the cultivars were inoculated with the non-oncogenic line, roots emerged at the point of inoculation. Rooting was not evident in the non-inoculated control plants. Tumour formation and induction of roots with oncogenic lines of A. tumefaciens indicated the possibility of the genetic … |
