Özet
In this study, strains isolated from vaginal flora of healthy women were used. The anti-proliferative or cytotoxic effects of these strains on the HeLa [Human Cervical Carcinoma Cell] and Caco-2 [Human Colon Carcinoma Cell Line] cells after various in vitro tests to evaluate the probiotic potential of these strains were investigated. All strains were found to be resistant to low pH and high bile salt concentrations. It has been determined that vaginal strains have a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity against urogenital pathogens and are resistant to frequently prescribed antibiotics for these pathogens. At the end of the 4 th hours, all tested isolates had autoaggregation capacity between 63.6% and 85.2%. The strains were found to be well coagulated with microorganisms (Escherichia coli and Candida albicans) which cause vaginal and urogenital infections. In addition, the metabolites of L12, L13 and L19 strains had a significant antiproliferative effect (75-90% mortality rate) on the HeLa and Caco-2 cell lines. These strains with superior probiotic properties alone or with other strains having strong probiotic properties can be thought to contribute to the development of a new probiotic formulation to help improve maintain urogenital health and to reduce the clinical symptoms caused by vaginal infections.
