Özet |
Determining the irrigation water quality is very essential for plant growth and soil salinization. Generally, each water parameter is evaluated separately to determine whether the water is suitable for irrigation purposes. However, this assessment does not give full certainty, therefore, methods are needed to give a single value for the quality of the water. In this study, water samples were taken from 21 different drainage channels which are used for irrigation purposes in Çarșamba Plain in the month of July 2012. The samples were analyzed for EC, pH, Na, Ca, Mg, HCO3 ve Cl. The irrigation water quality index values (IWQI) were calculated using several physiochemical water parameters including EC, pH, Na, Ca, Mg, HCO3 ve Cl.
