Özet |
Malpractice is defined as failure to complete the medical intervention as intended when ill health care is provided. This study was conducted to examine the trends of nurses to malpractice in terms of some variables. 172 of these volunteer nurses working in the internal, surgical, operating theater, intensive care and emergency departments of a state hospital on a detached island constitute the universe of this descriptive study. The data were collected with a descriptive form and the Malpractice Tendency Scale for Nursing (NMTS). In the analysis of the data, number, percentage, mean, cronbach alpha, variance analysis, Kruskal Wallis, Mann Whitney-U, independent t test and correlation analysis were used. It was determined that 43% of the nurses were undergraduate, 33.7% were working for 0-5 years, 25.6% made medical errors during the study period and 21.5% were not satisfied with the working environment.
