| Since mobile operating systems supplies open platform, personal applications can be developed and used for these devices. Nowadays mobile based solutions are being developed rapidly. In this study, an electronic dictionary working on mobile device was developed as a database application. Hence the data are stored and requested on mobile phones or web server. Since there is not enough memory, it is not possible to store bulky data on a mobile phone. For this reason, some part of the data is stored on mobile device and the other part is stored on web server in the developed application. The word which is not found on mobile device can be accessed via web server using GPRS connection. © 2005 IEEE. |
