Karyotype analysis of Cyprinion macrostomus Heckel, 1843 (Pisces, Cyprinidae)

| Özet |
| In this paper analysis of karyotype of Cyprinion macrostomus, taken from Karakaya Dam Lake (Malatya, Türkiye) were conducted. The specimens were transported alive to laboratory and kept in aerated aquaria in laboratory conditions. Chromosomes were obtained directly from kidneys according to “air drying” method of Collares-Pereira (1992). Upon karyotype analysis it is established that the diploid chromosome numbers is 2n= 50, the karyotype composed of 3 pairs of metacentric, 12 pairs of submetacentric, 6 pairs of subtelocentric, 4 pairs of acrocentric chromosomes, and fundamental number amounts to 92. Sex chromosomes were morphologically undifferentiated. |
