Özet
This study was carried out to determine the effect of ABA on stem height of tomato seedlings. ABA treatments in 0, 1, 10, 50 and 100 µM concentrations were applied on seedling of Lycopersicon esculentum cv. Aspendos (indeterminate) and Lycopersicon esculentum cv. Donna (determinate) tomato varieties for 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks after appearance of the first seen leaf via daily pulverization. For each dose, 4 seedlings were used for each dose and each week. Plants were grown in soilless culture. Plant heights were measured regularly for each week of nine weeks. For all application times (weeks), there was no significant difference between 1 or 10 µM doses ABA with respect to plant height. On the other hand, 50 and 100 µM ABA applied indeterminate seedlings showed slower growth until 3rd week compared to control while determinate seedling showed slower growth until 2nd week. To conclude, as overall, ABA applications have no significant effects on plant growth in post planting.
